Seven Important Reasons Not to Stay at the Mandarin Hotel :)
REASONS NOT TO STAY AT FARALYA, ÖLÜDENİZ MANDARIN Hotel:
About a year ago, we outlined five significant reasons in our email newsletter why you should spend your holiday at Mandarin Hotel. In the spirit of providing unbiased information and helping you decide whether Mandarin is suitable for you, we feel the need to explain why some holidaymakers may prefer to stay away from Mandarin.
1 - Mandarin Hotel is in a remote location...
Mandarin is located in Faralya, a small village in Fethiye that you would have difficulty finding on a map, let alone in prominent holiday brochures. When you look out from your hotel balcony towards the sea, you won't see large hotel complexes or shopping malls, just small village houses nestled in green hills. The surrounding area is pure nature and rural life. When you reach Faralya's hidden coves, you won't find rows of sun loungers, just a crystal-clear sea embracing you. However, despite the isolated feeling Mandarin creates, if you crave a change, you can easily reach Ölüdeniz beach 9 km away or the lively port town of Fethiye 20 km away with hourly minibuses. Dalaman Airport is also easily accessible, just over an hour away.
2 - Our furniture is old...
Recognizing the similarity of hotel rooms within standard norms, we wanted our rooms to reflect our cultural values prominently. By utilizing wood materials from old Ottoman structures in the historic city of Kastamonu in the Black Sea region, we crafted new hand-carved furniture, adhering to the principle of "preserving and sustaining the old" contrary to today's consumption trends. These materials with a history add a unique charm to Mandarin's interiors.
3 - Our staff has never worked at another hotel…
Due to our location in a small settlement, we chose all our staff from our village to support the local community and make positive contributions to their lives. These ladies, who have never worked outside their homes, demonstrate such self-confidence by working at Mandarin, and seeing their pleasant and sincere behavior towards our guests makes us very happy. As a result, genuine sincerity, which cannot be taught in any tourism school, and authentic hospitality mean making visitors feel at home in the place where they live.
4 - You might gain weight...
Like our other employees, our chef from our region has acquired cooking skills from our elders. While implementing traditional recipes, she uses local fresh ingredients to present you with a variety of Turkish cuisine delights every evening. Besides, it will be difficult to say no to the fresh cakes and pastries accompanying your afternoon tea by the poolside every evening. Perhaps that's why the only complaint you'll find about Mandarin's cuisine in our guestbooks and TripAdvisor reviews is about the seductive taste of our meals, and some guests deciding they need to diet after their holidays at Mandarin.
5 - You'll create your own entertainment…
As a small hotel located in an as yet unspoiled environment, our primary holiday slogan is to relax in a peaceful atmosphere. We do not have an animation team to create noisy attractions by the poolside. Without bingo, karaoke, or various other competitions, you will have to spend your holiday. Our only star performer is our gentleman dog, Paşa, who chases helicopter bugs or accompanies swimmers by the poolside. In addition to this performance, classical or jazz music accompanies your evening meals. Our small DVD collection awaits your interest for a movie night in your room. However, most of our guests rediscover the pleasure of solitude with a few glasses of delicious wine outdoors or the enjoyment of conversations with other guests.
6 - You might miss some must-see places...
Mandarin is located in an area that houses a series of historical sites as well as natural beauties, and most of these can be visited with daily tours. However, since there is no pressure to make it to breakfast in the mornings, you will have to struggle with yourself to get out of our "super king-size" comfortable beds in our rooms. After getting up, the attraction of our pool, the intimate and comfortable seating areas of our colorful and fragrant garden will irresistibly attract you. Anyway, you can save the places that must be seen in the vicinity for your next holiday at Mandarin.
7 - Mandarin might be fully booked...
Finally, if the above reasons haven't deterred you from spending your holiday at Mandarin Boutique Hotel, the truth is that we only have 8 rooms, and a high number of our guests return to our hotel repeatedly. Therefore, some days during the upcoming summer months may be fully booked. Thankfully, there are currently vacancies on some dates for this season, and if your holiday dates are flexible, you can find a place at Mandarin. Alternatively, you can make a reservation for the next year, just like our returning guests do. Please visit our website www.villamandarin.com or contact us at 0252 642 1002 or [email protected] , and we will find a solution to accommodate you in Faralya.
